Altigweld ER5356 Alloy, .035" Wire Diameter, 16 lb Wire Basket Spool, 1060 F to 1175 F Melting Range

Alloy 5356 is the most widely used welding alloy and can be classified as a general-purpose type filler alloy. Alloy 5356 is typically chosen because of its relatively high shear strength. Any 5XXX alloy base material, welded with 5356, with a weld pool chemistry greater than 3% Mg and service temperatures in excess of 149F (65C), are susceptible to stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is available in both solid wire and rods. The alloy is not recommended for elevated temperature service applications.Typical Applications: Welding Filler Wire Nail WireGeneral Information: Trade designation: ALMIGWELD and ALTIGWELD Non-Heat treatable Similar to AlSi5 (DIN) ISO designation: AlMg5Cr(A) Principle alloying elements: Magnesium, Manganese, Chromium, Titanium Applicable specifications: ANSI/AWS A5.10 (ER & R)Welding Approvals: American Bureau of Shipping - Canadian Welding Bureau - Lloyd" s Register Bureau Veritas - RINA - Korean Register Det Norske Veritas - TuV - CE DBChemistry: Silicon: 0.25 Iron: 0.40 Copper: 0.10 Manganese: 0.05 - 0.20 Magnesium: 4.5 - 5.5 Chromium: 0.05 - 0.20 Zinc: 0.10 Titanium: 0.06 - 0.20 Beryllium: 0.0003 Others: Each (0.05), Total (0.15) Aluminum: Remaining
