The 309L grade is similar to 309 except for the lower carbon content, (.03% maximum) which reduces the possibility of carbide precipitation which can cause weld corrosion.Application: Used to weld base metals of similar composition in wrought or cast form; also used to weld type 304 and similar base metals where severe conditions may exist.
